A Pew Research study revealed that only 19%* of Americans say that they can trust the government to act in the country’s best interest, it should come as no surprise that there has been a huge push for amendments to be made to the Constitution, a document created almost 230 years ago. In an effort to maintain the country’s democratic status, one that has been slowly but surely declining**, it is important now more than ever to continue the conversation on the fate of democracy in America.

That is the focus of an essay contest open to all UCF undergraduate students. The top entrants can win up to $250 and will have their essays published on the Division of Teaching and Learning website. Read the Constitution Day submission form for additional information.
