The University recognizes that communities are comprised of, and enriched by, people of from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Studying these multiple perspectives promotes an understanding of the needs of individuals, the University, and society. Thus, all students completing their first bachelor’s degree from UCF must complete at least one course that explores the backgrounds and characteristics found among humans.
Students are exempt from this requirement if they have completed an Associate of Arts degree or the General Education Program at a Florida College System institution or public state university. Students who have previously completed a baccalaureate degree also are exempt.
The requirement is satisfied by the successful completion of a course selected from the approved course list. Additional courses may be approved subsequently by the General Undergraduate Review Committee, so students should consult their departmental advisor for the most current listing.
For more information on which courses satisfy the requirement, consult the UCF Undergraduate Catalog (2024-2025).
