Looking for a way to deepen your engagement with the General Education Program (GEP)?  We are currently seeking new members for the following 2024-2025 GEP Task Forces. Serving on a task force is a great opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our program and collaborate with colleagues across campus.

Full-time faculty members who are teaching at least one GEP course this academic year are eligible to serve. Below are the available task forces and their roles:

  • Assessment Task Force
This group focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of GEP courses in achieving program learning outcomes. Members work together to review assessment data and develop strategies to enhance student learning. Task Force members will also be involved in the reshaping of the GEP assessment initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about evidence-based teaching and continuous improvement.

  • Professional Development Task Force
This task force is responsible for identifying and promoting professional development opportunities that enhance the teaching of GEP courses. Members help to organize workshops and explore innovative approaches to pedagogy. If you’re interested in supporting faculty growth and advancing teaching practices, this is the group for you.

  • Awards Task Force
The Awards Task Force manages the review and selection process for GEP professional development awards. Members evaluate applications, select recipients, and help recognize outstanding contributions to the GEP. This is a great role for faculty who enjoy celebrating excellence in teaching and fostering innovation. Members who serve on the Awards Task Force will be ineligible to apply for an award this year.
