Don’t Ghost Your GEP Assessments
By Annabelle Conroy, GEP Faculty Fellow
As a reminder, all faculty teaching a General Education Program (GEP) course this semester need to have at least one assignment that assesses at least one of the course’s foundational learning outcomes.
If you’re unsure which foundation your course belongs to, visit the General Education Faculty Learning Community webcourse course. There you’ll also find detailed guidance and helpful resources on the assessment process.
Please keep in mind the following:
- The assessment deadline is Friday, Oct. 31, at 11:59 p.m. (UCF’s Withdrawal deadline).
- Use the latest rubric (Fall 2025): It includes five categories—4 (Exemplary), 3 (Outstanding), 2 (Competent), 1 (Developing), and 0 (No Data/Unsatisfactory).
- If you copied your course from last term and it still has the previous foundation name, don’t worry. You can still use it. Just make sure that you are attaching the correct learning outcome to your assignment.
- Drop in to a virtual GEP assessment session. The GEP Team will help you set up your course assessment. Read Need Help With GEP Assessment? Join Our Virtual Drop-in Sessions for dates and times.
If you have questions about GEP assessments, please contact Annabelle Conroy and the GEP Team.
Join the GEP Assessment Task Force
The General Education Program (GEP) Assessment Task Force will begin meeting soon, and we’re seeking engaged participants to join this important initiative.
The task force plays a key role in reviewing assessment results from previous terms and shaping recommendations for future improvements. It is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to enhancing UCF’s GEP and to collaborate with colleagues committed to academic excellence.
The task force typically meets once a month, and your insights would be highly valued. We hope to have representatives from each foundation.
If you’re interested in being part of this impactful work, please contact Annabelle Conroy or email the GEP Team for more details.
