Assessing Spring 2025 Courses

We’ll ring in 2025 in less than a month! As you prepare for the spring term, please include an assignment assessing at least one of the GEP learning outcomes in your spring semester courses.

Assessment Tips

  • Transfer your Fall 2024 assessments to the spring term by copying your course shell, the assignments, and the outcomes/rubric.
  • Use the New Quiz tool for course assessments using quizzes. Soon, this tool will be the only option for quizzes.
  • Visit the General Education Faculty Learning webcourse for information about the assessment process and learning outcomes.
  • Submit your Spring 2025 assessments by March 28 (UCF’s Withdrawal deadline).

Assessments Not Submitted

Although the Fall 2024 assessment deadline has passed, we can still submit results for assignments conducted before the Nov. 1 deadline. We’re happy to assist you if you didn’t submit an assessment. Please contact Annabelle Conroy.

GEP Assessment Task Force

During the spring term, the GEP assessment task force will meet to evaluate the assessment results and process.

If you are interested in participating in the task force or have questions about GEP assessments, please email Annabelle Conroy or Amanda Pacheco.

NEW! Certificate of GEP Engagement

We are excited to launch the Certificate of GEP Engagement, a new initiative designed to recognize dedication to enhancing student success through meaningful engagement with GEP-related activities. This certificate will be available starting Spring 2025 and can be a valuable addition to teaching portfolios for annual evaluations, promotions, and award applications.

Successful applicants will include anyone who teaches at least one GEP course during the 2024-2025 academic year (including graduate students) and who demonstrate their commitment to general education by attending at least three GEP-sponsored events, such as workshops, webinars, or Bites & Banter sessions.

More information will be available beginning in Spring 2025. Stay tuned!

Exciting Changes Ahead for the GEP Faculty Webcourse and Website

Exciting changes are coming to the GEP faculty webcourse and website! As part of UCF’s commitment to accessibility, the current webcourse and webpages will undergo significant updates to meet new standards.

Moving forward, much of the webcourse content will transition to a new, fully accessible GEP website, while the webcourse itself will be reimagined as a more interactive space for discussions and training. During this transition, key materials related to assessment will remain available to ensure faculty have the resources they need.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work to enhance the GEP experience for faculty and students alike!
