{"id":2170,"date":"2026-06-30T20:21:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T20:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cugscms.smca.ucf.edu\/hiphub-migrate\/?page_id=2170"},"modified":"2026-07-07T19:37:53","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T19:37:53","slug":"hip-course-designations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/undergrad.ucf.edu\/hip\/hip-course-designations\/","title":{"rendered":"HIP Course Designations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group bg-faded py-5\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><div class=\"wp-bootstrap-blocks-container container mb-2\">\n\t\n\n<h2 id=\"course-designations\" class=\"wp-block-heading heading-underline\">HIP Course Designations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">UCF offers four opportunities to bring&nbsp;HIPs&nbsp;into the classroom in a structured and documented process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>HIP Designations will help students quickly and easily enroll in a HIP course to enrich their academic experience.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designations will also allow departments, colleges, and administrators to track enrollment in HIP courses.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Courses may be&nbsp;submitted&nbsp;for designation of one faculty member\u2019s section(s) or for all sections of a course.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fall and Spring submissions are due the third Friday of the semester via the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ucfknights.teamdynamix.com\/TDClient\/33\/Support\/Requests\/Service\/66\/HIP-Course-Designation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HIP Course Designations Submission Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For general information please contact&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:HIP@ucf.edu\">HIP@ucf.edu.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Review our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/undergrad.ucf.edu\/hip\/policies\/\">General Policies and Procedures<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Effective Spring 2024, the HIP Course Designation Steering Committee is beginning the process of five-year reviews for all HIP designated courses. GL courses help students develop intercultural competencies through the presentation and analysis of established relationships including consideration of target culture and\/or marginalized perspectives.
