Scholarship pays tribute to mentor and student advocate “Dr. B”

Bryan Perez receives the first “Dr. O.M. ‘Budd’ Berringer Pre-Health Professions Endowed Scholarship.” Mr. Perez will use the $1,000 scholarship to cover his dental school application expenses. He is completing his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and is applying to Dental Schools. Dr. Berringer’s wife, Dr. Lynn Berringer, who is a retired pediatrician, presented the scholarship.

Dr. Keisha Hoerrner is the new Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies

On August 15, Dr. Keisha L. Hoerrner will join the Division of Teaching and Learning and the College of Undergraduate Studies as the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies.

In this role, she will be responsible for the University of Central Florida’s academic processes including curricular and co-curricular planning, academic policies, and the institutional improvement plan.

Dr. Hoerrner currently serves as the Dean of the University College at Kennesaw State University and has extensive experience leading the development of integrative approaches to learning and academic policies.

She holds a doctorate in Mass Communication and a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia, and a bachelor’s in Communication from Kennesaw State College.

UCF alumna Kim (Newsome) Reynolds walked into the Orlando Pride locker room for the July 10 match against Boston, just as she had on many gamedays before as an amateur member of the team.
