Message from the Dean
I am delighted to welcome you to the University of Central Florida's College of Undergraduate Studies - home to a diverse and vibrant community of scholars. The University of Central Florida's academic community continues to define itself through innovation, problem solving and civic responsibility. These values inspired the university's founding more than half a century ago and they continue to motivate us as we challenge notions of what a twenty-first-century undergraduate education should be.
The College of Undergraduate Studies is committed to helping students develop a sense of social responsibility; build strong, transferable intellectual and practical skills; and obtain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet society's growing demand. In supporting the university's curricular planning, we advocate for an integrated and innovative educational journey that empower students to become globally competitive and lifelong learners. We collaborate with faculty and staff to strengthen university-wide academic programs so students are afforded a high quality undergraduate experience. These goals are accomplished, in part, by the various offices and programs administered and supported by our college.
We offer a host of student support programs, offices and initiatives including academic services, experiential learning, undergraduate research, interdisciplinary studies, pre-health and pre-law advising, the EXCEL program, quality enhancement plan, academic advancement program and the Karen L. Smith Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning. Through the contributions of our faculty and staff, the College of Undergraduate Studies promotes student success by removing barriers and offering meaning educational experiences.
The College of Undergraduate Studies truly exemplifies the University of Central Florida's core values of integrity, scholarship, community, creativity and excellence. I invite you to learn more about the exciting work we are doing to help inspire and transform students as they face today's challenges and opportunities.
I look forward to the coming year and to all that we will accomplish together.
Go Knights. Charge On!
